Shopping Sundays in Poland 2026
The calendar follows Poland's Sunday-trading law as amended from 1 February 2025: the restriction does not apply on the Sunday immediately before Easter, the last Sunday of January, April, June and August, and the three consecutive Sundays before Christmas Eve.
What is closed on a non-trading Sunday?
Most large supermarkets, shopping-centre retail stores and ordinary chain shops are closed. Restaurants, cinemas and some services inside shopping centres may still operate.
What can still be open?
Legal exceptions include petrol stations, pharmacies, some owner-operated shops, certain bakeries and food-service businesses, hotel shops and other categories listed in the law. “Allowed to open” does not mean a particular location will definitely be open.
Is Żabka open on non-trading Sundays?
Many Żabka branches are open, but hours vary by store. We have a separate guide explaining how to check the exact branch.
Tourist tip
If you need a large supermarket shop, do it on Saturday unless you have checked that Sunday is a trading Sunday. On a non-trading Sunday you can usually still buy basic food and drinks somewhere, but the choice may be smaller.
How many shopping Sundays are there in Poland in 2026?

Is 30 August 2026 a shopping Sunday?

Are shops open every Sunday in December 2026?
